Associate
Kevin focuses his practice on environmental litigation, environmental regulatory compliance and permitting, hazardous substances remediation, due diligence of development projects, and renewable energy development. His experience includes representing clients in federal litigation under the Clean Water Act, the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); representing clients in state environmental litigations and/or administrative enforcement actions; counseling developers through the New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program and New York City Office of Environmental Remediation (E) Designation program; and assisting with environmental due diligence of renewable energy project financings and real estate transactions.
Prior to joining SPR, Kevin completed a post-graduate fellowship position as a Volunteer Assistant Attorney General in the Environmental Protection Bureau of the Office of the New York State Attorney General, where he assisted in CERCLA cost recovery investigations and litigation, environmental permit enforcement, and an investigation into a utility company. During law school, Kevin was a summer associate with SPR and completed internships and/or clinics with the New York Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery, the Natural Resources Defense Council, and the Environmental Law Division of the New York City Law Department. He also served as the Submissions Editor for the NYU Environmental Law Journal and contributed to a City-funded study of Local Law 97 as a research assistant for the Frank J. Guarini Center on Environmental, Energy, and Land Use Law. Prior to law school, Kevin worked as an environmental remediation consultant in the New York City area.
