Jeff Gracer Kick Starts Upcoming Climate Change Panels with ALI CLE Program

On February 6, 2020, SPR principal Jeff Gracer spoke at the annual ALI CLE Environmental Law Conference in Washington, DC co-chaired by SPR principals Daniel Riesel and Pamela Esterman. Jeff’s presentation focused on state and local climate change legislation, including New York State’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) and New York City’s Buildings Emissions Law (Local Law 97). SPR attorneys have been speaking and writing on these significant new laws since their passage in 2019 and will continue that engagement in 2020 with three upcoming events. On February 19, 2020, Jeff will be speaking about the role of local law in decarbonization at the Climate Disruption and Decarbonization Conference, to take place at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University. On March 3, 2020, Jeff and SPR Associate Alexis Saba will join technical and financial experts in a round table discussion of how property owners and other stakeholders can make the best decisions for their businesses in the context of Local Law 97. On March 31, 2020, Alexis and SPR principal Adam Stolorow will present to the Hotel Association of New York about Local Law 97 and other building energy efficiency laws that the City Council passed in April 2019 known as the Climate Mobilization Act.
